No problem...
The only thing I can think of (and another expert I consulted) is to run the normal WU checks -

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

In that case, my best suggestion is to completely reset windows Update
Windows Update - Reset
then carefully attempt a manual CHeck for Updates, and install ONLY the oldest update found. - what happens? Post the new C:\windows\windowsupdate.log file.

Sorry to revive this from the dead, but in these component services, what does the key "Visibility" refer to? I've asked over in the Vista forums and received no answer. Thank you.

I think it's a case of whether the entry appears in the Installed Updates listing or not.

Where is "VIEW", "ARRANGE ICONS BY", "TYPE"
One feature I really liked in XP was the ability to look in a folder through My Computer and sort the files by extension. For example if I wanted to get all .jpg files to one side of the folder as I looked for a file, I could click View, Arrange Icons By, Type and make that happen. I don't see...
