Attempting to validate via that link brings up the error "Activate Windows. Windows has not yet been activated with a genuine product key. Not to worry, we can help you with that", followed by a key store.

    Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

    net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

    CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
    net start sppsvc
    slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report.

(Note: the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it may be broken in the Forum listing)

You didn't use the Key from your COA sticker - why not?

My COA sticker has been worn down to the point that it is unreadable, unfortunately. Sorry, Noel. I must not have made that clear enough in my earlier posts. Didn't mean to lead you on a wild goose chase here, and I do appreciate the help.

My fault - I missed it earlier.
I suspect that your tech used the wrong installation disk, so the certificates and licenses don't match.
Your quickest solution is probably going to be to use your manufacturer's Recovery media to do another reformat/reinstall.
(This is where you tell me that you never made the disks that you should have done when you first got the machine )
You can order a set of Recovery disks from your manufacturer's website Acer Store (or probably from somewhere like restoredisks.com ) for a fee - which should be a lot less than a new license.

    You could also try this...

There *may* be an alternative solution though, if you are patient and persistent.
Attempt Telephone Activation, and speak to an operator - they will tell you that your current Key is blocked (they should then ask for confirmation of your Product Key). Explain to them your problem, that you need to change the Key to the one on your sticker, but that the sticker is unreadable (could they please supply a replacement Key?). Hopefully they will ask for documentary proof of the sticker, in the form of an email with a picture of the affected sticker - and you can proceed from there.
Sometimes it takes two or three calls before you get an operator who actually knows and uses this procedure - but I know that it can and does happen.

Ah well, fortunately I did make recovery disks, even though I didn't think to just write down the product key off the COA sticker. Well, I'm off to reformat. Thanks again Noel, you've been a big help.

Those disks should have the proper certificates present to match the licenses in the BIOS SLIC table on your machine.

Once you have it installed, run another MGADiag report, and post that - before bothering to update it, just in case there's a problem still.
