    KMS verification on MAK software

Not sure this is the right forum. Running VL MAK software however Event View shows Windows running Office Software License Check every time Word 2010 is opened.

From the looks of that, you may have some serious problems...

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Hardware.aspx

    Also

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

The issue isn't with Windows Activation nor Office. When ever Word is opened it tries to verify with a KMS server. The license is for MAK. OS is Win 7 Ultimate 64Bit (UPGRADED From Home Premium), Office is 2010 Professional Plus with an MAK License. Everything says it is activated with no problems.

    Here is the Windows

Hmm - I was hoping to see something of the KMSis the MGADiag report - but being Office 2010, it's completely invisible to it (MGADiag sees only OXP, O2k3 and O2k7).
I was in rather a hurry (posting while the boss's back was turned) so didn't read your post in the depth it deserved - sorry.

As far as I can tell from your Event log entry, the installed license is an MAK one, and properly activated.

SO - the question then becomes why is the Word startup check saying otherwise?

Is it only Word that causes this problem?
Have you tried using Office's Repair option in Programs & Features > Uninstall/Change??
Has it always done this? - if not, when did it change? Have you tried a System Restore?

To be honest don't know how long it's been happening. Tried the repair and even reactivated. I was working on the issue Word Hyperlink kills connection to certian website and going through the event log to see if there were any errors for it when I found this one. Not sure if one is related to the other or not but now trying to solve 2 issues LOL

All the office applications do it, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

    (Thanks, Bear!)

Since KMS activation requires a connection to a private server it's possible that either proxy or firewall settings are the issue.
Maybe the full event logs would give us a clue.

    Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
    Save the file as Appevt.evtx
    Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

I can't really see anything too badly amiss there at all.

One possibly worrying thing though is the system time - please check that your Region, Locale, and time/date settings are correct. (I may just be reading the logs wrong - so don't worry too much about it!)

I have to admit to avoiding Office activation problems when possible - they are a law unto themselves.

You may find more knowledgeable people in the MS forums at Office - Microsoft Community

I'll see if I can find anything out.
