    Win Update Issue & Proceedures

I just loaded Win7 SP1 onto a new computer and it worked fine UNTIL it wanted to install 167 updates.
Somewhere in the process almost 1/4 of the updates failed to install and basically I had to completely reinstall the OS.

Now that I reinstalled Win7 again I still have those 167 updates to contend with. Can I select a smaller number at a time and if so is there some sequence to worry about. While a lot of updates are for security there are also a ton of .NET updates (that tend to take a long time) & IE 11 to replace IE8.

How can I break this down to something that won't trash my new install for a second time? Any suggestions would be appreciated . . . Thanks

There should be no problem choosing all the updates and installing them, but yes, try doing say 20 at a time.

I had a problem last time as I indicated. Any 20? Should I separate out .NET from the rest or IE 11?

Start with the Windows Security Updates
    then the other Windows updates
    Then Internet Explorer
    Then .NET updates.
