windows update error 80070490 on kb2647753 and kb2839894 (viruses)

    Unfortunately, it's the same error message - 80070490 - and the update log isn't terribly informative, either
    Supposedly, this is an error with a manifest file - but CheckSUR is designed to find them (even if it can't fix them), and your CheckSUR report is clear of any detections.

    That being the case, really all I can suggest (and certainly the quickest solution) is a repair install of Windows.

    Well thanks for the help, I thought about repairing but I didn't have the disc. I'm glad that thread has links to download the correct ISO so now I'll be able to repair.
