    Window Update Error

Help. im trying to reinstall my audio device but it's not working because window updates won't work.
I get something like "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running"
It doesn't update anything anymore & always fail to install a software.

    Try this first..

    Open Windows Update
    Click on Change Settings
    Select 'Never Update...'
    Click OK
    exit Windows Update
    Now open Windows update again
    Click on Change Settings
    Select 'Update automatically'
    Click OK
    exit Windows Update
Open Windows Update, and do a manual Check for Updates.

If you still get the same response, please follow the Windows Update Posting and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

OK - please post the CBS folder anyhow. The error would seem to indicate failures in the system that need to be fixed before we can get CheckSUR to finish the job.
