I certainly hope this will help anyone else with the same problem. It's so easy to do this that even I surprised myself.

<chuckle> - I used to dread a repair install, and tried to avoid recommending it, but it really is the easiest way to get a fully-functional system sometimes, and is nowhere near as difficult as it used to be, thanks to a lot of improvements that MS made between XP and Win7.

Recommend it more often for novices like me. It saves all your files and programs and also a lot of headaches!

Hopefully you feel a little more confident that you can deal with things that Windows may throw at you in the future!

Have fun with your new skills .

I think it would be a good idea, yes - and any other software from Iobit or Uniblue
You know. This is the best advice anyone ever gave me. I am sure this was all of my problem from the beginning. Windows 7 does not need any of this. Just causes problems
