After trying to uninstall IE 11 I cannot reinstall IE at all

Hi Noel,

I copied the contents, not the folder. This is what I found inside the folder after running DIR C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR\Servicing\Packages;

Odd - they are definitely the right files, but the CheckSUR doesn't seem to have done the job with them
Ah - I see what the problem is.
The version numbers on many of the damaged/missing files is different to those commonly available.

It may take me some time to find a source for them - don't run away!

Dear Noel,

thanks a lot for your help and I am standing by. It is really strange how difficult it is to get such a core Microsoft Product wroking again. I would think Microsoft should learn from it, but maybe they don't.

Hi Noel.

just a perhaps stupid question from my side. There is nothing from my side to do with the list of files you sent, is there? I guess it proves to be very difficult to solve my problem. Thank you anyway for all your efforts. If it will not work out, maybe I just have to accept the fact that I cannot use IE anymore.

No - they belong to older versions of updates, and I'm trying to find someone with an archive that goes back that far or with that much detail. Unfortunately, I don't think that uninstalling the affected updates will work - and it may make matters worse.
