    build 7601, windows not genuine

I've got the black screen with message in lower right corner. The laptop is a HP Elitebook 8730w. The sticker on the bottom indicates it was originally loaded with windows vista, but it currently has windows 7 ultimate. My ex-wife got this computer from her work, and I believe she put a different hard drive in it, and I am unaware of where the windows 7 ultimate came from. It was working normally for nearly a year before this message started appearing. Does the diagnostics provided give any insight as to what the issue might be? Do I need to buy new genuine software, or is their some other issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The installed Key has been blocked - presumably because of abuse.
The Key type is one which should only be in use on a machine which shipped with Windows 7 Ultimate pre-installed.

It looks like someone 'stole' the key from another machine.

    Two choices...
    1) see if you can purchase a FULL license for Windows 7 Ultimate - avoid places like eBay and Caigslist, as they are mostly counterfeits. Swap the Key in to the existing install.
    2) revert back to Vista, using the manufacturer's Recovery media, or a Retail ISO/disk with the COA sticker Key - this will wipe the drive, so back up all data to external media.

If you pick option 2, you can then try and get hold of an Upgrade license for whichever version of Windows you fancy - you almost certainly don't need Ultimate!
