Is anyone having trouble searching for windows updates lately?

I have noticed for the past several days searching for windows updates will sometimes time out and I will get an error code. (alass it is working right now and I did not get the error code number) Then If I wait an hour or so and try again it will say no updates available.

Just seems like Microsoft update server is getting hit hard lately.

Maybe something to do with the botched updates out there?

No problems here with WU. I do it manually about 3 to 4 times a day. Maybe it is our locations and what server we end up with.

    I'm close to Cleveland.

Thank you. I can now search fine for awhile now. Maybe just something was up there for a little bit or I accessed it during peak time.

With all the people moving from XP to Windows 7 all the updating could be putting a strain on Microsoft's Servers.

    That could be it too.

Thanks for the info. So far it has been going fine for awhile now, so must have been that or it was during peak time.

    Search for windows updates

It seems that there has been issues for some users.

    See: Resolve August's Windows Update error 80246002 | www.winhelp.us

After the last round of updates I found high RAM usage after rebooting caused by Windows Update Service.

I ran a couple of fixes to reset and repair WU and then it worked correctly.

Ya I am getting this every now and then, I looked online and lots of people are saying it has to do with using an alternate dns service like google or open dns.

I am using open dns so I contacted support to see if it is them or microsoft.
