"Windows is not genuine" error, computer extremely slow and freezes
Hello,
I could really use some help. Yesterday, I booted up my computer just like any other day, and it took forever to boot up (got stuck at the welcome screen and then at the desktop before the icons and start menu showed up). Within 5 minutes, the computer froze and was completely unresponsive, so I powered it off with the power button. I tried booting up again with the same result.
The third time, I booted up into safe mode and tried a system restore to a point from last Thursday, the last restore point when a critical update was installed. I restarted into regular mode, and it froze again. Since then when I have gone to system restore, all of the system restore points are gone. Also, I have that message that says "this copy of Windows is not genuine - build 7601" in the bottom right corner.
I can boot up into safe mode or safe mode with networking very quickly, but booting into regular mode takes forever (40 minutes to an hour). Then, within 5 minutes, it will become unresponsive.
I've had this computer for two years and bought it directly from Sony, so it is not an illegal version of Windows. This is really frustrating. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Here is the diagnostic report.
