Technical Preview all of a sudden coming up in Windows Update

Hey guys all of a sudden Windows Technical Preview is coming up in Windows Update and everytime I try and hide it, it keeps coming back up when I check for updates I don't want to install this because I am nervous about messing up my computer and if I don't like it I know I have recovery media now to get my computer to "out-of-the-box" state, but when I re-connect to one of my networks I will have lots of hassles getting it to work and connect how can I stop the Windows Technical Preview from coming up and keep it hidden

Delete the latest installed Windows Update (KB299xxxxx??) - that should stop it. Note that doing so will delete your Update History, and reset the SoftwareDistribution folder

yes i signed up for it, but I didn't think that this would happen and it was so frustrating that I reset my laptop back to factory settings and now the update has went away

I signed my Mom's desktop up for it, but she hasn't received it in Windows Update yet though like you have. So, I don't know. Like you, I don't want to do the preview installation...because I am afraid it might mess up the computer. But, maybe it's coming through Windows update then it's not as bad as we think it's going to be for the computer. They have said to send feedback if you experience any bugs with the preview.

I happened to also hide the update for Internet Explorer 11 and it doesn't come back up, I tried and there are still so many bugs that Microsoft needs to work out there because some of my webpages will not display correctly and I find that usernames I use from other websites come onto my facebook and other sites and I hate the auto-fill in feature with usernames and passwords

Can't remember now.... I still have KB 2998527, 2993651 and 3001554 installed so it can't be any of them.
Check the Installed date on any others and see if that rings bells with when you started the process

    [edit]
    I think it's this one... KB2990214 ..... yep - confirmed! - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru...ows-kb2990214/

that is not going to be helpful for me as I reset my laptop back to factory default settings over the weekend because I was going to give it a try and said I was going to forget it and when I shut down my computer it said Installing Update 1 of 1 and I knew what it was for and that's when I decided to reset it back to factory defaults
