How to manually install a failed Windows update

I normally check the status of Windows update every few days. This morning going to Control Panel ..... Windows Update I find everything normal. I check update history and find that a important update failed. So I did a check for pending updates. Still normal, no pending updates found.
That important update that failed really wasn't so IMPORTANT, I guess.
Anyhow, I wish to try to install it. Can't find how.
I didn't put this post in the Windows Update forum because I'm not ready to troubleshoot yet. Just want to find out how to install the failed update.

    Hi Bill,

Considering that they aren't letting you download it, it's probably not that important. I really don't think you can install this update, even manually!

Did you Google the KB# and see what the update was for.

Just Googled it. It's not important to me anwa. Something about compatibility for future upgrades.

FYI, in the Update History you can double-click an update and then click on the link of "More information". It'll take you to the KB page :)
