    Windows not genuine

I recently downloaded some free texture pictures and got a lot of junk with it. I got rid of the junk in Control Panel and was told to reboot to complete deletion of files. The re-boot took 20mins or so to re-load all my icons then the would only work very slowly if at all. I re-booted in Safe Mode and restored to an earlier time but still same thing happened. After quite a bit of playing around and re-booting I had to go out and left the computer re-booting. On my return 2hours later the computer was working perfectly although my desktop and I.E pages look a bit different but not to worry. I then noticed the following in the right had bottom of my desktop. "Windows 7 is not genuine". Do I have a problem and what to do about it. Please make any replies not too technical.

    Just try Re-Activating.

    Activate Windows 7 Online

Scan your system with Malwarebytes and any antivirus program.

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    Windows not Genuine

Thanks for your help but the message re "not Genuine" has disappeared, nothing I have done, and computer is working fine. Have done a/v scan and backup so I think I will leave it there as "one of those things. Thanks again.

It's possible that the notification was the result of a race condition - but I would still suggest posting the MGADiag report, as it may be something more serious which is just hiding in the woodwork only to jump out at you later.

Following above I found that it took 20 mins to re-boot but did a hard disk check and that seems ok now. Any ive done the MGADiag test and results are:-

Everything looks OK there - apart from the counterfeit install of Office 2007. It's based on a Volume License, which has been blocked by MS for abuse (I alone must have seen hundreds of cases).
You should uninstall that and replaced with a licensed copy, or an alternative suite.
