When I click check for updates, it says that I need to restart for updates. However, no updates were installed. I tried restarting, but this issue is appearing again and again. What I need to do?

SFC /scannow said that Windows Resource Protection didn't find any integrity violations.

My Windows 7 copy is not counterfeit. The product key is from the sticker on the computer.

Was this computer built with your posted system specs?
Or have you upgraded your hardware?

What hardware did the computer come with?

Does the Microsoft sticker on your computer indicate (OEM)

Updated the System Spec, now it shows the computer that I am having problems. It's the 2nd one. Yep, this computer came with Windows 7 Pro OA COA.

As far as I can find or remember your key is a OEM.

OEM keys can only be use on the computer it was installed and activated on the first time.
If you changed the motherboard your key on the computer will no longer work. Microsoft considers a different motherboard the same as a different computer.

That is why I asked specific question in my post #2.

Have you replaced the motherboard from what came with the computer from the factory?

From what I found the motherboard in your system specs is a replacement motherboard.
    Is that correct?

    Yes, that's the computer.

You missed something. I have 2 computers - The AsRock computer and the HP one. The HP is having problems. Now I installed SURT on this computer right now.

Here is the Speccy screenshot of the HP one.

EDIT: I tried installing 2 updates that are left, and they both failed, error code 80070BC9. it was the two .NET Framework 3.5.1 updates

Okay my misunderstanding. Thanks for changing your specs.

All I'm trying to understand before the experts get here that read those logs is:

1.Your operating system matches the COA sticker on the computer.

    2. The motherboard that came with the computer is still installed or not.

Answering those questions will give are experts a head start in solving your problem.
    Any misinformation causes confusion.

Answer # 1 and 2 and then we will wait for the experts.

    Please note:
Any time you install a Windows Update and it ask for a reboot just reboot. Windows need that done to completely install the update.

The problem here appears to be a 'stuck' update...

This is not an error I've had to deal with before - and I need to do some research on it, but don't have much available time until the weekend (if then!)

If you're in a hurry for a solution, then I'd recommend backing up data to external media, and then doing a clean install of Windows.

@ LaybackBear No, this computer it's like this. 1. It was with Windows XP. 2. Then I reinstalled the computer with Windows 7. 3. Then I installed Windows 8.1 Preview to see the new features. 4. Then I went back to Windows 7 and reinstalled it because of virus, and this copy is already 1 year (after reinstallation).

@ NoelDP OK, I will wait for your answer. I'm not that guy that really is in a hurry.

I think this should work - at least according to MS...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command:

    SC START TRUSTEDINSTALLER

close the window and reboot. (check for any error messages first!)
With any luck the stuck update will now install on the restart.

Try Windows Update now - if you still get the same error, then try this...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

    SC CONFIG TRUSTEDINSTALLER start= AUTO

    reboot.
see if that does the trick.

If neither work, post the new CBS.log file, the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file, and the Events logs...

    Open Event Viewer

click on theWindows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.

Now click on theApplication entry - wait while it loads.

Click on 'File'in the menu bar and select Save...

    Save the file asAppevt.evtx

    Repeat for theSystem log

    then zip both,and upload them.
