(Probably not - it's more likely that the failing updates blocked the install of the others until they were attempted separately.)

Thank you both for your help... much appreciated. Here's the components file:

Yes... after each one installed, if it said to restart the system I rebooted. After it said failed reverting changes and rebooted a couple times I would finally get back in and check for updates and select the next one and repeat the process.
I couldn't install any of the 10 remaining updates until I ran the tool you suggested. So yes it did resolve some of the issues.
Prior to this I want you to know that MS Office 2010 wouldn't open. Every time I clicked on word it would say "installing". Repair wouldn't run. After a couple days I attempted to remove via Add/Remove programs and the uninstall failed. I had to download an uninstall tool. I reinstalled MS Office 2013 and its working fine. This all started after a critical update. When opening internet explorer it would just flash and close. I resolved this by remove it as a windows feature.. rebooting and adding as a feature again. I ran CCleaner, ADW Cleaner, RKill, combo fix, and Avast. Cleaned up some junk but the only thing it really found was the Babylon Stuff. Soooo everything seems ok except for windows updates. Yes there could be other things wrong but its working pretty well.
You are not the only one, I've had this same issue with this last batch of updates, and I'm on an HP as well so it might be HP specific issue. I have not had the chance to do the trouble shooting you have yet, will do so Saturday, and hopefully between you, I, and the great people here, we'll get an answer.
