The 80070005 error is an 'Access Denied' one - we need to find out what's being denied access to what.
Please upload the C:\windows\windowsupdate.log file, and the relevant event logs....

    Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
    Save the file as Appevt.evtx
    Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

A number of services appear to be failing - some because of an apparent failure in the BFE service.

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

    net start bfe
    sc qc bfe
    sc queryex bfe
    sc qprivs bfe
    sc qsidtype bfe
    sc sdshow bfe

    post the results...

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

That would explain a lot - the BFE service is a critical part of Windows, and can get attacked by some malware, and by some registry 'cleaners'.

Let's see what we can do to correct this.

    I've uploaded a file - bfex64.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location
This should create a file bfe.reg (inside a folder 'bfex64')

right-click on the file, and select Merge
Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.
    Close all windows, and reboot.

Then run Windows update again, and see how it performs - post back with details, and also..

Please download the Farbar Service Scanner from

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/

Right-click on the saved file and select 'Run as Administrator', and tick all the options, then click on the Scan button - copy and paste the report to your response.

    Glad it was that simple!

Please - just the farbar scan would be enough.
