Clean install from iso w/SP1 on HP oem laptop activation issue

After reading this fine forum I decided to do a clean install on my laptop, just too much bloat ware on the 4 dvd set. I wiped the drive and made 1 small partion 120G for the install to save on # of partitions. Everything went smooth except for the non genuine and of course the huge update. Have the recovery disks do not want to use them though. The machine was pre SP1 and I used the iso with the integrated SP1. Here attached is a copy of the file.

Thanks for the feedback, I have not retried the sticker product code other than during the install process. Later on when the laptop is near internet access I will try the activation process mentioned. Not sure why the .bat file should be necessary no upgrade here, could see what it does I guess. I may just let it try to auto activated in 3 days and see what happens. I can see in the file it already has the product code off the sticker, just some of it xxxx out.

Sometimes life is just not Genuine I guess...

There's no reason from the report why the system should be showing as non-genuine - and it should validate OK as well, since validation always passes on systems within the grace period (by design).

You can always do telephone activation -
    Click on the Start orb,
    in the Search box type

    SLUI 4
    and hit the Enter key.

    Follow the instructions.

    Thanks again,

Had the machine online today, so its activated now, no reboot required just the 3 steps below.
1 - mouse click on Change Product Key
    2 - entered the 25 characters
    3 - a 2nd mouse click

In about 2-3 minutes it was activated:)

Very pleased with the overall process of the clean install process with no phone call required.

    Best Regards

Linear I suggest after activation to check again for all Windows Updates.
