Windows 7: Windows Activation

12 Dec 2014   #1

Windows 7 Professional X64
Windows Activation

I have seen the posts today regarding the "Non-Genuine" errors.

I haven't received any of those errors, but for curiosity's sake I ran the MS Diag tool - that showed I have Windows 7 Enterprise - NOT- I have Pro 7.

I also ran the Validation tool and it said Not Genuine and wanted me to buy a new copy.

I went to Computer page and it shows as validated.

So, why all the misinformation?

Windows could not be validated as genuine - Microsoft Windows

Please perform the following:

1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:

2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear

3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply

Already ran it above.

That's why I questioned it to begin with.

But you didn't click copy and paste the results as per the instructions. Read and follow steps 2 and 3 in instructions.

The pasted text contains far more information than shown in your screen capture images - without it, the problem cannot be analysed, and a solution recommended.

I just installed a patch and the correct OS now shows, but the Validation still wants me to buy a copy.

Didn't realize how to post what you asked for.

Thats fine - I don't see anything untoward in the MGADiag report.

Ensure Windows is updated, then reboot, and run the validation again:

You need to use Internet Explorer - Firefox and the WGA mechanisms don't get on too well together in default configuration.

Windows 7 OEM activation
I put a new SSD into my laptop and did a fresh install of Windows 7. The activation key isn't working, this is because according to Microsoft it is an OEM activation key that Acer used to install Windows and this is blocked. They say that I have to contact Acer to unblock it. Is there any other way...

Hi Gents, Hope someone can help me here. I've been using a retail version of Win7 Home premium 64 for about 2 years now with no issues. During that time I've reinstalled the product possibly 6 or 8 times. Excessive I know but when things start to go wrong I like to start fresh again. Anyway...

W7 activation -- new MOBO fine but LAN connection wants activation
Hi there I recently changed a MOBO from an INTEL based one to one using an AMD PHENOM processor -- W7 didn't want any new activation rather surprisingly. (Broken Mobo and I had a spare ASUS MOBO lying around). However the first time I switched to using a LAN cable instead of a Wifi USB adapter...
