    Updates failing bigtime

    Hello,

I am unable to install the updates from a long time. I receive a 800B0100 error everytime I try to update.

I ignored it, made sure that my antivirus is properly updated, definitions to the latest and I exercised extra caution while browsing. But today I have opened the Turn Windows features on or off to see it blank. A quick search revealed that this got something in relation with the updates. Kindly help me resolve this issue.

Here are the easy problems from CheckSUR...

It also shows some more awkward problems, which aren't being mirrored by SFC....

I'll post fixes for the first when I can, and then we'll work on the others.

    I've uploaded a file - bb3aa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder bb3aa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Then run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log file

Thanks for the immediate assistance Noel. The mail went to the spam folder, so I am late. I have downloaded the folder and did exactly as you asked me to. Running the SUR tool, waiting it to complete, and should I attach the new logs as an attachment or in the code wrap directly?

probably best as an attachment - it could get large.

Great - that's got the registry back into shape

Now we have to deal with these ...
    Code:
    Checking Component Store
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 wuapi.dll.mui x86_microsoft-windows-w..lient-aux.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_7.6.7600.320_en-us_79797ee24873c796
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 wuapi.dll x86_microsoft-windows-w..owsupdateclient-aux_31bf3856ad364e35_7.6.7600.320_none_5fe8ebf8acf2b7cd
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 wups.dll x86_microsoft-windows-w..owsupdateclient-aux_31bf3856ad364e35_7.6.7600.320_none_5fe8ebf8acf2b7cd
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 wudriver.dll x86_microsoft-windows-w..owsupdateclient-aux_31bf3856ad364e35_7.6.7600.320_none_5fe8ebf8acf2b7cd

    .
I'll post another fix later for these.

Thanks a lot! I can't thank you enough. :) The "Turn Windows features on or off" option is back and I can see the components. Can I try to check for updates?
