Great - SFC is now clear.
I think/hope that all we need to do now is clear the update stack and start WU again...

    Open an Elevated Command Prompt
    Run the following commands

    NET STOP WUAUSERV
    REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD
    NET START WUAUSERV

    reboot
then wait 10 minutes, and open Windows Updates, and run a Check for Updates.

Install only the oldest update found - and reboot once installed
then go back to Windows updates and install the others.

I followed ALL steps exactly, and there's still problems.
1)There was only one update that appeared in Windows Update after I ran a Check For Updates.
    2)That update is: KB3024777
    3)The update failed to install.

    Other notes:
The 'trial' version of Windows that I accidentally (which I stated earlier in the thread)activated has finished, and so now I get a pop-up that says I may be running a counterfeit version of Windows, and my background is black and shows accompanying text to the pop-up. The trial finished about three days ago.

    I uninstalled KB3004394 and rebooted.
A whole bunch of updates from the 13th of January popped up and I installed every single one without a problem.

Now we just have to figure out how I can get my fricken code to work. The one from the sticker on the bottom of my computer does not work and the built-in code (forget what that is called) still does not work.
