    windows could not search for new updates, Code 80070005


    "an error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer."

    Most recent check for updates: never
    updates were installed: never

    I am trying to update my windows 7 to sp1 but I could not find a solution for error 80070005, help would be greatly appreciated!

    Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

    If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

    I managed to get windows update to work, it updated to something like 35% and then restarted a few times without success. now the new error i saw is 800F0826. please let me know if u need anything else.

    Both CheckSUR and SFC scans are clear of errors.
    Please post your C:\Windows\windowsupate.log file - it should give me some clues.

Hello, I'm having issues when trying to search for updates on my laptop. I have successfully ran SURT. SFC Scan gave me a message saying "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation". The message I'm getting is "Windows Could not search for new updates" error...

I tried to check for windows updates, it gives me a notification for update required for windows update, but it gives me a message of (Windows could not search for new update, code 800F081F). CBS Logs are in the attachment. Regards,
