Microsoft give a very exact and precise way of proper activation.
Window 7 doesn't need or want any 3rd party program messing with the activation.

At this point it doesn't matter that it indicates genuine. It's how Windows 7 got it's genuine indication.
Until it gets genuine the Microsoft method many things will not work properly.

Their are many hacks that make the install look genuine for a while but don't be fooled. Things will not work properly and that includes updates.

Once a proper install of Windows 7 is done with the proper Microsoft method of activation is completed and all updates are done let us know if you are still having any problems.

The amount of time spent already on this system you could of done a Clean Install and on you way to happy computing.

You asked if I had any idea. Well I have posted my idea and it's not going to change.

Am I to take that to mean I will receive no more support here?

You will get all the support you need once you have a proper activated Windows 7.
This is my opinion but you can wait for others if they care to jump in.

In my opinion you do not have a proper legal installation of Windows 7 as per my post # 57 so my help stops.

That's fine, Ladyback. I appreciate your attention to this. i am regretful for install KMScipo, but would've done anything to fix the problems. My license is valid, though, and I will continue to troubleshoot and hope I can receive more guidance.

Microsoft and Noel were unable to help you fix this install so I have no idea where to send you for further help.
Except the tutorial I posted to do a Clean Install.

Noel - If you are still able to help, I'd be unbelievably grateful. If not, please let me know so that I can try to find someone else to help, although I am not too hopeful. Again, I am really stumped here and could use any possible assistance.

The problem with Activation Exploits such as this is that they can come with unwanted side-effects - perhaps as severe as viral rootkits - which can make troubleshooting extremely difficult and time-consuming.
Under normal circumstances I'd love to continue to help, but I've not been too well since Christmas , and am having difficulty concentrating on anything, let alone something as complex as this seems to be.
I think in fairness to you, that your best course of action is going to be at least a repair install of the OS, if not a reformat and reinstall.

Noel had another brain storm even when sickly. It may or may not fix your problem but it doesn't cost anything to try.

Repair Install. Be advised you will need a proper COA key to complete the Repair Install.

Here is a tutorial by Brink:
