Win 7 Home SP1 Code 1 encountered unknown error on Update KB3024777

I have Window 7 Home Premium SP1 and have been getting a failed status for the last month:
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3024777)
    Installation date: ‎2/‎16/‎2015 3:01 AM
    Installation status: Failed
    Error details: Code 1
    Errors found:
Code 1 Windows update encountered an unknown error

I ran sfc\scannow and the cbs.zip file is attached.

It appears to be similar the problem FTLOSM posted but for a different update.

    Thanks.

Not sure if I should start a new thread or if it is related to my Windows Update error but I am also having a Windows Genuine issue. My MGADIAG report:

Please attempt to uninstall KB3004394 - which is what KB3024777 is attempting to do - from the Installed Updates listing.
Even if that succeeds, there are a few repairs that are going to be required, as there are unrelated errors, discovered in the CheckSUR report (and in the SFC).

If KB3004394 comes out OK, reboot twice before attempting any more updates. Then post a new MGADiag report.

    That looks OK now.
    Are you still seeing notifications?

If not, then go back to Windows Update, and do a Check for Updates.
You'll see that KB3004394 is there again - hopefully this time the 'posted' date will be 10th Feb 2015. If so, you should be able to install it without any problem.

Not seeing notification and KB3004394 automatically installed this morning as well as other updates with no issues, so it looks like you recommendation fixed the problem.

Thanks so much for all your help and quick response..
