Check Installed Updates - if KB3004394 is installed, UNINSTALL it.
Reboot twice, then do a Check for Updates.
Reinstall the updates, then run the MGADiag report again, and post the new log

    not running genuine windows

Noel Thanks for looking into my problem.

I looked at the installed updates and I do not find that KB3004394 was ever installed. I should mention that I did a CHKDSK /R and SFC /SCANNOW but that did not resolve problem.

    Hi kitnx,

Try manually installing the "Silver Bullet Patch" (KB 3024777).

Windows 7 hit by rash of bogus 'not genuine' reports, validation code 0x8004FE21 | InfoWorld

Scroll to the bottom and you'll find a 3-step solution.

If KB3004394 is not install, then KB302477 will NOT install - and it may not install anyhow unless the KB3004394 is the original version released in December.

Assuming has never been installed, then try this..

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

    not running Genuine Windows ...

    NoelDP,

I now seem to be able to perform windows update. I started process and seems to be working so far. I'm at installing #24 of 74 updates. Previously I couldn't even get this far. I'm very grateful for helping me. People like you are worth their weight in gold. During the rebooting twice I had received a window error that said "Driver restore has stopped working" is that anything to be concerned about? Again, Noel, thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Kitnx

Hmm - it is a little concerning, as that doesn't sound like a Windows error....

    Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
    Save the file as Appevt.evtx
    Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

The message always appears after a system reboot.
