Please open an ELevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

ICACLS C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp\PendingRenames
ATTRIB C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp\PendingRenames\*.*

post the results..

Here are some instructions to make life easier
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Windows 7 Professional x64

This is the output:

C:\Windows\system32>icacls c:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingRenames
c:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingRenames NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller:(OI)(CI)(F)

1 bestanden zijn verwerkt; 0 bestanden zijn niet verwerkt

C:\Windows\system32>attrib c:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingRenames\*.*
Pad niet gevonden - C:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingRenames

ingebouwd = buildin
gebruikers = users
pad niet gevonden = could not find path

I looked it up in Windows File Explorer and find "PendingRenames" being a file, not a directory. There is a map named "PendingDeletes", though. I don't know if you need those, but to be as complete as possible:

C:\Windows\system32>attrib c:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingDeletes\*.*
A C:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingDeletes\$$DeleteMe.sortkey.nlp.01ce80
A C:\windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingDeletes\$$DeleteMe.sorttbls.nlp.01ce8

Thank you for looking into this.

Now SFC worked:
C:\>sfc /scannow

Windows 7 Professional x64

I retried to do an update for Windows and now the error message changed (I tried to install the oldest one like you said in the first post). Now I get an error FF. It took much longer to install the update than before and I don't get the notification anymore that WindowsUpdate needs to be updated (first it did, than I choose to install that and apparently it worked).
