Windows Update: Error 800B0100 on installing KB3023266

Update KB3023266 is failing with error 800B0100. I have tried:

    - System Update Readiness tool
    - sfc /scannow, which said it fixed something but I still cannot install the KB

Attached is my CheckSUR.log which shows some errors. Is anyone able to help out? Thanks!

A quick check on KB2949927 which CheckSUR points to as the culprit tells me that Microsoft has pulled this update. Unfortunately this update does not show in my currently installed updates list, so I can't uninstall it - though I guess it isn't installed at all. Weird though that it's still causing issues.

Yes, as I mentioned in my previous post, I tried uninstalling the update (which is advised on that page) but the update does not appear in the list of installed updates. I therefore can not uninstall it.

Did you try System Restore (as recommended)?

Ah good point. Unfortunately I don't have a restore point that is old enough. Just to be sure I restored to the earliest date possible but the problem still existed.

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the patch to hand, so may not have all the files necessary, but we'll see what I can do with what I have - while I put out a call for a full patch.

    I've uploaded a file - ssdaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder ssdaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Thank you so much. I performed your instructions and added both files in the attachment. Looks pretty good to me! Is there anything else I need to do?

CheckSUR is happy now, at least.
Youneed to run a Check for Updates, and attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found - what happens? If it installs OK, try the rest. If not, post back with the error message, and we'll take a look.

A check for new updates showed only the erroneous update, which just now installed successfully! Thank you very much, seems the issue is resolved.
