AddRAM has not suggested that users rely on the GPO/reg settings and then uninstall the very updates that make use of those settings. AddRAM's lists are not relevant to the warning that I was attempting to convey.

The suggestion to use the GPO/reg settings and then remove Windows Update Clients updates that read those GPO/reg settings is what I questioned. If you do that, you could very well end up with W10 asking to install again.

    > Because you were the most opposing vocalist against or questioning his list.
Please find one post of mine to Brds7t7 where the GPO/reg settings were not the main focus. You keep talking about Brds7t7's list. You keep leaving out the GPO/reg settings that Brds7t7 suggested in that same post. I keep trying to warn users that using Brds7t7's list will cause Brds7t7's suggested GPO/reg settings to be ignored. If users want to use those GPO/reg settings, then they need to understand which KBs are required to make use of them.

    > ...that didn't stop M$ from sending out useless updates to add GPO to me.
MS offered the "GPO update" to your W7 Home Premium OS because that very same update also offers a non-GPO setting to reject W10. The update works for all versions of W7. All versions of W7 can reject W10 via a reg setting.

Recently I have time to install patches this month and from what I've seen the first version KB3097877 cause problems and the second not know. As also for some does not cause any inconvenience opinions are 50/50.
3Colors: So far, I have not found any articles reporting that the Nov 12th reissue of KB3097877 is definitely problem-free. Only thing I'm finding is people saying they are waiting to see.

Among the recommended (along with the not recommended) is the KB3107998. I could not understand well the info patch apparently fixes problems from a previous patch.

There is one that is overlooked and need to hide it before starting to install the patches ?
I got that update as well even though it's supposed to be a fix for conflict with last month's Windows Kernel security update (KB3088195) and "certain Lenovo-based computers".

My machine is a custom build... so I have no idea why KB3107998 was offered to me. And I'm wondering if there are other potential problems with KB3088195 since Lenovo has already released an updated version of their USB Blocker. (link) My trust in MS's update "recommendations" has dramatically fallen over the past year.

Since MS starting pushing W10-related updates as "Recommended", I have unchecked the "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates" box in Windows Update settings.

My general rule of thumb with updates is to always install the security updates after first checking to see if there's any problems... and hold off on "Recommended" and "Optional" one unless I find a good reason to install them. However, I haven't seen any reports of problems with installing 3107998 either.

You need to run Powershell so type powershell and press Enter.

Wait for the command prompt prefixed with "PS"

That just means that the KB's you searched for are not installed.
