    Hi IcecoldUK.

I can help you with the BSOD issue. Windows update is Noel's specialization and he is the best person you can have in the world to help you with windows update related issue. So I would suggest you to continue with Noel with the update related errors. If you get any more BSOD, I am subscribed to your thread to help you with that.

But, there is one thing that you may try: Windows Update - Reset

    Hi Noel / Icecold

Got exactly the same problem!! - please help!
Please start a NEW thread of your own, and post your own results to it.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file
