Hello and Thank you in advance!

I have been fighting (and losing) a battle where Windows says it is not Genuine and bombards me messages. When I run the Validation tool it says that files are corrupted and I need to spend $109 to fix it. I am the original owner and have not updated the hard drive or any other hardware. This has been going on since January.

I am hoping you can shed some light on the subject.

    Thank you,

    RoyD

Roy, there is no legitimate validation tool that charges money to repair an error. What tool are you using for this? Whatever you do, do not part with any money.

I'll ask Noel to look into this - he is the validation expert here and you can be confident he'll get to the bottom of it.

To confirm that the problem is what I think it is, please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt window and post the results.

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S
    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

The $109 is the cost of a GGK Home Premium, Colin. Standard offering when something fails the WGA check.

    I've uploaded a file - sluicom64.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location
This should create a file sluicom64.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge
Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.
    Close all windows, and reboot.

Run another MGADiag report, and post the results.

I came home from work and there has always been a "Not Genuine" pop-up balloon to greet me except for this afternoon! Amazing!

NoelDP I do not know how to express my appreciation for all that you have done!!! Thank you so very much!

I would be remiss if I did not Thank Golden who initially responded to my query.

    Warmest Regards,

    RoyD
