Win 7 Update For Outlook 2010 (KB2965295) Fails With Error Code 6BB

Have run SURT many times with no problem
Have run SFC 10 times and always corrupt files are found but unable to fix them
    Suggestions?
Would really rather not do clean install...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

    Thanks Noel
Didn't post the logs initially because I thought the corrupt files sfc found would need to be addressed first
    Nevertheless, here are the logs

    There's no CheckSUR/SURT log there?
The major error in the CBS.log file is this...
    Code:
     Line 8135: 2015-05-02 03:03:31, Error CBS Failed to parse package manifest: \\?\C:\Windows\Servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-RDP-WinIP-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~7.1.7601.16398.mum [HRESULT = 0x80070002 - ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND]
     Line 8136: 2015-05-02 03:03:31, Error CBS Failed to resolve package 'Microsoft-Windows-RDP-WinIP-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~7.1.7601.16398' [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
This indicates a problem that the tool is specifically designed to identify and (mostly) cure.

There is also no sign of any SFC scan having been run since 29 April.

That's better - I can see what I'm dealing with now
    Code:
    Unavailable repair files:

There are also a couple of missing payload files - which we'll deal with later.

I'll post a fix protocol shortly.

...Interesting - a couple of the errors are for files that can't actually exist, so are possibly due to registry corruption. (More on that later)

    I've uploaded a file - hbgaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder hbgaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

    Once completed, Also...

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
