    The installed Product Key is the Default Key for Windows 7 Pro - which can NEVER be activated.
    Your machine shipped with Vista installed, rather than Windows 7


    How did you do the upgrade - from where did you get the install media and Key?

    In that case, the install has to be regarded as counterfeit.

Windows Update validation error
in Windows Updates & Activation

When I run the Windows Update with Windows 7, I'm getting an error that says "You may be victim of software counterfeiting". I click "Go online and resolve now". I then get error number 0x80080101, saying it is unable to determine whether my copy of Windows is genuine. Any ideas?
