    Problem with update KB3049563 - I.E. 11 update for Windows 7

Automatic updates said I needed this update but it failed to update more than once. So, I went to Microsoft's website to download it from there to see if that made a difference. When trying to install I get the message "This update is not applicable to your computer". I had no error messages. I have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64 bit and I.E. 11 so I don't know what to make of this. On the face of it the update ought to apply to my computer but something clearly isn't right. All the other automatic updates installed correctly. Does anybody know what's likely to be happening here please?

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

    Windows Update File

Hopefully the Update File uploaded. I have reduced the file to keep within the maximum permitted size - deleting what appear to be the benign entries.

There were 15 files automatically downloaded by automatic update but 4 failed. So, I started re-installing the failed 4 updates one at a time. 3 of these succeeded leaving KB3049563 outstanding. So, I went to the Microsoft website to download and install it but I got the message that the file did not apply to my computer. I noticed that the file had x86 on it.

I can also see on the internet that other people are now reporting problems associated with this update.

I need the CheckSUR.log file, and the CBS.log - you need to compress them before uploading.

I am not very good at finding my way around but:
    1. I think I have uploaded the CheckSUR file.
    2. The CBS.log is still 28mb after going through the process of deleting all but the most recent of the Persist and then compressing what is left of the log.

The CheckSUR log looks fine - but I still need the rest of the data.
Please follow the instructions I linked to in post #2 and post the data requested - you can post each file separately if necessary, after compression to a zip file

    1. First of all a screenshot of the contents of the CBS File.
    2. Secondly the CBS file of that screenshot compressed.
    3. The persist file ending 112 is still 9.9MB so too big.
    4. The persist file ending 037 compressed.

I am not sure that the screenshot can be read easily so here is a compressed file of it in case it is any better.
