I want to get the Get Windows 10 Icon

    Hello Community,
As I said I wanted to get the Get Windows 10 Icon as its not showing up.
I already installed all Updates, also the optional ones, but nothing shows up (Windows 7 64-bit).

I have also tried running the GWX.exe manually, but nothing happens.

    Please help, yours,

    Jerome

You have to have KB3035583 installed. Check your Windows updates for that KB (most likely there) and install it.

    A way to download KB3035583?

    I expect so.
Hopefully MS will fix the issue for the PC's that can't see the icon.

Let's check the Windows Update system out...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

this worked for me. from: I want to reserve my free copy of Windows 10, but I don?t see - Microsoft Community

This section posted by Susan Bradley:
Community Moderator Susan Bradley (I don't work for Microsoft) with a community edit:
There is a community provided tool/script that will go through several means to fix the common issues. The link to this tool/script is buried on page 90 of this forum - but the easier way to find it is in the middle of this InfoWorld article - it's the dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/s/0u0au9xgy6..._full.zip?dl=0 which is also referred to in the article below:
How to remove (or acquire) the Windows 10 free copy icon | InfoWorld
    Instructions to run the tool:
    1. Go to https://www.dropbox.com/s/0u0au9xgy6..._full.zip?dl=0 and download the file.
    2. Copy the win10fix_full.bat file to anywhere else like desktop.
    3. Right click the file and click run as administrator.
    4. Follow the screen instruction untill to come to main menu screen.
    5. On main menu screen do step 1 first and check if you go the updates insalled and and then press any key it will take you back to main menu.
    6. Now do step 2 which only takes like 1 second and should have the icon in the task bar.
Please note this tool is not officially from Microsoft is not sanctioned by them but it has been reviewed by me, is not malicious and certainly makes it easier to get the process done.
