CheckSUR is still OK - but I may have found the problem...

Please open an ELevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

    TAKEOWN /F C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /A /R /D Y
    ICACLS C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /grant AdministratorsF)
    RD C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /T /Q
    DIR C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae

(Hopefully, the last command will come up with a 'Not found' error)

Once complete, do a Check for Updates, and try installing SP1 again

It says "ERROR: The system cannot find the file specified." when I enter "TAKEOWN /F C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /A /R /D Y". I delete the Y at the end of the command, and then it gives "ERROR: Invalid syntax. Value expected for '/D'. Type "TAKEOWN /?" for usage."

I can try to use the command as "TAKEOWN /F C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae", "TAKEOWN /A C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae", "TAKEOWN /R C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae", "TAKEOWN /D C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae" but I don't know if it will work or it is correct that way.

You MUST use the commands as posted - the TAKEOWN MUST be the first entry in each line (even if there was a forum-introduced error in one of the lies!)

    TAKEOWN /F C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /A /R /D Y
    ICACLS C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /grant Administrators:(F)
    RD C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae /T /Q
    DIR C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae

(Hopefully, the last command will come up with a 'Not found' error)

    Here's the result:

    Windows Update KB3020370 fail - Code 800B0100-asdadda.jpg

The update situation is still the same: Same update, same error.

Odd - Please run the following commands (although it's possible that the folder was automatically deleted after the install failed)

    DIR C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae
    ATTRIB C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8d77b7c0e31a4087211127d7ce638cae

    post the results

Looks as if it really isn't there :)
Please do me a favour, and post an MGADiag report...

I need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x
    - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
