    Installing SP1 (KB976932) Error 800B0100

    Good Day!

I’ve had this problem for a very long time and should have done something about it long before, but have not. Windows Update always fails to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) with the error code 800B0100. I have tried manually downloading and installing the file from Microsoft’s website. I have also gone through and installed SURT and have done a SFC /scannow (it did not find any integrity violations), neither of these have fixed the issue.

I have attached my CBS, any help would be very much appreciated!

    Attachment 362491

    Thanks for the help!

    I've uploaded afile - CWFiles.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive

    Please downloadand save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to thedefault location - which will create a new folder CWBFilesin the same place.

Open this folder- there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Andthe content of the manifestsfolder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Nowrun the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Customer Experience report successfully uploaded. Thank you for participating. For more information, see the Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program on the Microsoft web site.
With any luck, SP1 will install now.
If not, post the new CBS.log file, and the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log files

It worked! Now I have something like 158 updates to make...

Is there anyway I can donate to you/buy you a beer for your help?

Thanks for helping everyone out on this forum!

You can always buy me a pint next time you're round my way (Holywell, Flintshire) :) - I can't see me getting to the US again
