Windows 10 Upgrade?

Hi with the Windows 10 becoming available to download, will your photos, music etc disappear if not backed up? Also I take it your present OS will have to be up to date but does it matter about the 'Recommended updates also being downloaded?

Windows 10 Pro x64 x3, Ubuntu

The initial installation will be an upgrade over an existing qualifying operating system, with this all existing programs, and data should be retained. However, as with any major system level operation it is good practice to ensure you have backups / installers / Data etc fully backed up, just in case.

If after you perform the initial upgrade you decide to install a fresh Copy of Windows 10, using the new windows 10 key provided as part of the upgrade, this will of course remove all existing data
