    Hi Noel,

Sorry for the late reply. I never received an email indicating you had replied to my last post. It was not until yesterday that it occurred to me to go to the forum to check for your reply. Attached are the latest files. Also below is a link for the most recent component file.

Let me know if there is anything else you can do. Thanks.

    Interesting results, there!

Here's a summary of the CheckSUR scan...

The first two remaining errors should be simple enough - the last one may present a problem.

I need to do some checks, but I'll get back when I can with a fix protocol for at least the first two.

Thanks, Noel. I am wondering how all this file/component corruption can be happening. Old computer, browser (Mozilla, crashes a lot!), or anti-virus (Avast)? Any thoughts? Just switched the anti-virus to Panda.

Look forward the the next step to see if we can fix this problem!

Sorry about that - hectic week!

    I've uploaded a file - jmnac.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive

Please download and save it to your desktop.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...

Save it to the default location

This should create a file jmnac.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge

Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.

    Close all windows, and reboot.

Run a new CheckSUR scan and post the new CheckSUR.log file.

I get an error saying "not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes."

Do I need to disable something?

I was afraid of that - it may mean that there are a couple more bitflips to roust out.
Please post the new CheckSUR.log anyhow, and we'll see if anything changed

Hopefully, this has fixed the Component Store error...

    I've uploaded a file - jmnad.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All, andsave to the default destination (which should be a folder on the desktop)

Create a new System Restore point

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands.

    Code:
     IF EXIST C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD1DEL C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD1
     REN C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS COMPONENTS.OLD1
     COPY "%userprofile%\desktop\wfire\COMPONENTS" C:\Windows\System32\config

    .
If you get an error with any command, STOP THERE - do not reboot! - post for instructions.

Assuming all commands go OK, reboot, and run another CheckSUR scan - post the new CheckSUR.log file.
