June update caues a loss of data.

    Hi,

I have just installed the latest June update but to my horror it has wiped out all my personal data.

Such as licence files, desktop icons, passwords and saved login details etc.

I cannot even restore from a backup as the Diskeeper archives do not recognise the backups.

Can anyone please help as I need ny data back...

This is almost certainly co-incidental - no update could possibly do what you claim.

It sounds as if you have booted to a new User Profile?

After checking User Profile as Noel has suggested.

Could you have possibly booted into the wrong partition or drive?

    Do you dual boot?
If so check your bios for proper boot order.

Doing this tutorial by Golden could give us some ideas also.

Some more information would be helpful. Another tutorial to guide you.

    Hi,

Thanks for the advice, it may well be that the hd has some errors and that could be causing the problem.
