    Guys,
Just so you know I cannot run anything in normal mode so yes I am operating in safe mode. When I try to do anything in normal mode I get an error message that window is not genuine. I cannot get to the internet or open any applications, files, etc. Absolutely nothing works in normal mode. That was not the case until after the computer was diagnosed as fixed 2 weeks ago. That same day after they told me it was fixed I decided to run my Webroot to make sure there was nothing residual. At about 48% of processing Webroot crashed and the system basically locked. The screen was showing that security IDs were corrupted and being replaced -- it appeared 1 register address at a time and when it finished that I only saw the cursor with no apps as though Windows was trying to logon but it never did. My fear is I will have to do a complete install so I will need to order the repair disks from Sony -- although I could not find my Vaio model listed on their retail website for ordering products.

Yes everything is being done in safe mode because I cannot do anything in normal mode now. I cannot get to the internet, open apps, folders, etc.

Look over these steps for doing a perfect Clean Reinstall Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we've directly helped with here, and has been used by 1.5+ milliion consumers without a single complaint.

Because of apparent tampering which corrupted your OS, I'd save my files to quarantine on a stick, external hard drive, DVD or other media that can then be scanned with Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and your AV before reimporting into the new install. This is discussed in the tutorial.

Then during the booted reinstall delete all partitions to create/format new as desired based on the options presented in tutorial.

Feel free to ask back any questions as we will help assure you get a perfect install, and then it will be up to you to keep it that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given.

Wow, none of that sounds good -- I do not know how I can backup my data since I thought none of the hardware drivers actually work in safe mode. Am I mistaken or will I need to have access to another computer to do some of the things that will be required in reinstalling Windows. Keeping in mind that nothing works in normal mode, I guess everything on my computer will be lost -- is that correct? So from what I read here I had a chance to prevent this problem when I was able to undo everything they did with the restore -- and this problem could most likely have been prevented? If that is correct then, the people at My Cured Computer should not be allowed to touch other people's computers, since they are obviously not qualified. I guess I have to blame myself for contacting them but I thought the blue screen was most likely a driver issue that could have been diagnosed/repaired easily once the leg work of downloading all of the drivers was done. I just did not have time to do that but I ended up doing it anyway after I realized they were unable to fix the problem they created. I have a question, if I get the repair disks from a Vaio of the exact same model -- having the same build as mine, would that work or make this easier?

You can rescue your data to an external hard drive or flash drive. Access to another computer will be necessary if yours is as bad as you say it is.

It's a shame what they did to your computer, there is a long list of negative complaints about them.

If you take your time and follow the instructions here, ask back to be sure if you are unsure about something.

Greg has helped countless people in situations like yours, you are in good hands.

I'm not sure about the discs, it's possible they may work. A better option would be to find a retail disc to use, it will accept your product key from the COA during install.

I only have so many hours in my day - not all of which can be spent in the forums, unfortunately

As to the original MGADiag report, the major problem is that it was done in Safe Mode - which means that it is missing a lot of the finer detail.

However, introducing a phony KMS activation server would certainly not have helped things, even if it had worked.

As has already been said your best option now is probably a clean install of Windows - either from Recovery media, or from genuine Windows media.

Please ask back your questions after reading Clean Reinstall Windows 7 as most are answered therein. For example it tells how to rescue your data using Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console .

You can attempt to order Recovery media if you didn't make them already, but I don't think Sony will provide them. You can also visit the Sony Support Downloads webpage for your model and download the Manual to read how this might be accomplished in Safe Mode. But it will also be an inferior install to the Clean Reinstall, the difference between the best install and the worst. Doing the reinstall is also a great life learning experience that will clue you more to computers than most anything.

Have you tried to activate at Control Panel>System with the Product Key on COA sticker? I doubt this will solve your blue screen problems. But you can work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to go over your install most thoroughly after that.

You might also have non-Genuine Blue Screen lockout which is actually caused by drive letter slippage during re imaging or reinstall. The fix for that is here: Moving Win7 Partition to Another Drive

If you want to do the reinstall until it starts up and connects to network (having your wireless driver standing by as discussed in tutorial in case it needs installing) then you can install TeamViewer Download, private message me your Teamviewer ID and password and I will connect and finish the install for you. Let me know a day in advance.

You can also try to install Teamviewer in Safe Mode with Networking and I will connect to have a look around.

    Noel,
Thank you for the response and I want you all to know I was not complaining about the response time -- I was just trying to make sure I had submitted my thread properly. That being said, I suspected that I would have to do a complete reinstall so I had already begun trying to locate the media disks. I will have copies of media disks within a week but I was hopeful there would be a way to undo the damage. I will have access to another Vaio -- the exact same model by early next week so I am hopeful I can create the disks from that machines HD. I tried a couple of different recovery options and thought it was working -- it got to about 55% of recovery then failed so that is probably a no go. I will do the reinstall and thank you all so very much for your assistance so far -- it is greatly appreciated.

    Greg,
Team Viewer is already on the computer -- that is what My Cured Computer used to try the repair. Right now I am trying the recovery again and it is at 75% this time so far without failing. However, I believe the system is still corrupted and even if the recovery works I do not believe it will be permanent -- still it may be useful in getting better information to you all. Of course if the factory reset works everything will be wiped so no more Team Viewer -- that would be a good thing though since it can always be reinstalled. Keeping my fingers crossed (sitting at 75% for quite some time) and hopefully I can resubmit the reports I ran previously in normal mode now if that makes sense as I am certain this will not be resolved with the recovery.

Because the other person in your computer introducing a phony KMS activation I would not trust them.

I would suggest changing all passwords for everything, (banks, credits cards ect).
