Sorry, I had to re-run the scan because the CBS file was too big. After the restart, this is what I got.

Good - SFC found nothing wrong, so we have only the errors that CheckSUR found to worry about.
I'll post a fix for those later.
Thanks! Will be waiting for it. :)
I've uploaded afile - 7shac.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel'sOneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\7hsac
hit the enter key- if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\7hsac
or
DIR E:\7hsac
The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...
XCOPY <drive>:\7hsac <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h
(e.g. XCOPYP:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )
run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.
Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply
I'm sorry but I think you got the the one folder wrong in the file. I don't have a problem with aepic.dll
The files are correct - if you check the list above, there is a problem with
it. (scroll down - it's the third on the list [2 components, but 3 files])
I see what you mean now, after going back to the source...
This is the file required...
Code:(f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 mshtmled.dll x86_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlediting_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17107_none_ce7fe8cf9ffee269
...OK - it's up! (same filename, same instructions - simply delete the one you already downloaded
Thanks NoelDP! I guess that fixed the missing payload files prob. My CheckSUR.log is now clean
That's the CBS/SFC log, rather than CheckSUR - but it's definitely a good sign, anyhow.
Go to Windows Update, and do a Check for Updates.
Attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found.
If it installs OK, try the rest.
If it fails, post the C:\windows\windowsupdae.log file.
