    Fixing CheckSUR.log problems (Error 80070490)

    Hi!

This is to prepare my laptop for the Windows 10 update. I needed to install KB2952664, but it gives the error mentioned above. I'm looking for the KB2952664 package to resolve this with the System Update Readiness Tool, unfortunately I can't find the package. My IE is malfunctioning so I can't go to catalog.update.microsoft.com . Hoping you can help.

I'll post a fix for the missing files above a bit later - then we'll have to worry about the missing payload files afterwards.

    I've uploaded a file - 7hsaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive

    Please download and save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder 7hsaa in the same place.

Open this folder- there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

That's what comes of doing things before finishing the first cup of coffee - I based the fix on the wrong version of the update concerned

    I'll post another fix later

OK - got the right ones this time :)
    I've uploaded a file - 7hsab.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive

    Yep :)
    Code:
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 mshtml.tlb x86_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlrendering_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17107_none_999a12047ec39891
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 mshtml.dll x86_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlrendering_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17107_none_999a12047ec39891
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 aepic.dll x86_microsoft-windows-a..rience-program-data_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18467_none_733c94b3e1709754

    .
We have to deal with these a different way - and also need to check that they aren't the only missing files...

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

    At the Command prompt, type

    SFC /SCANNOW

    and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload theCBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply (You'll have to copy it to the desktop first, before zipping the copy for upload)
