Newest version of Windows update will not install

Hello, New to this forum. I tried to do the things mentioned in the Windows Update Posting Instructions

so here goes: The last succesful Windows update was Jun 14 although Office, and others seem to be updating

Ran the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) for my computer ( 32 bit Windows 7 Home premium)

Got the following screenshots after trying windows update: First WU1 after I click on it to get the latest WU software I get WU2 It shows error code 80070570

I tried to run sfc /scannow but immediately I received "Windows Resource protection could not perform the requested operation."

I ran it 4 more times with the same result.

I have attached the CBS.zip file (logs you requested as well

Please let me know if you have away ahead.

    Thanks

It's the first time I've come across this type of error - I'm going to have to do some research and get back to you.

I think the first thing to do is to try and ensure that the HD is not damaged...

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click ont he Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

    At the Command prompt, type

    CHKDSK C: /R

    and hit the Enter key.

You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Ykey, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a secondauto-reboot) - then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry

Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

    At the Command prompt, type

    SFC /SCANNOW

    and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply

    ALSO

    Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.

Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...

    Save the file as Appevt.evtx

    Repeat for the System log

then zip both, and upload them.
