Windows 7 update error 800B0100 system partition was undersized (FULL)

Hey I have a machine that had a small system disk. The windows update component is seemingly broken but I have had a hard time getting anything out of the CBS logs. If someone could help me out that would be great.

I have run sfc /scannow but could not find the files to replace. When I run
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"The output is blank.

Dism doesn't seem to work and I am unfamiliar with it.

I tried upgrade in place but I think a BIOS setting or mbr issue may be stopping me from doing an in place upgrade.

    Any help is welcome.

Hopefully the majority of those errors will be fixed by correcting the CheckSUR errors first..

I'll post a fix protocol tomorrow.

    OK - I couldn't resist it :)

    I've uploaded a file - jvsaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder jvsaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it ( Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

    Hey Noel,

You seem busy I didn't realize I was running the wrong command for checksur. I tried /restorehealth which gives me an error.
Below are the logs from the check I ran again.

    /restorehealth doesn't really exist in Windows 7 - only in 8.x

believe it or not, the remaining errors in CheckSUR, are mainly cosmetic so we can ignore them.

Please run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log file, and we'll see what's changed there.

    Hey Noel.

    Thanks that totally did it.
Windows update now runs. What were the packages that were missing? Was the windows update component broken and hence could not download a package for the checkSUR utility? Or vice versa? I'd like to learn more about this. Also how did you glean those errors from that verbose log?
    Thanks again for your help!!!
