    Not responding?

Clean installed W7 Pro and MS Off, activated on line, Windows update installed updates for Office and W7 SP1, after that check for updates keeps running but doesn't show or install any more.

Downloaded IE 11 manually but still the same.

Any ideas how to fix it?

    Thanks.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

After several reinstall trials and talking to MS support with none results, I found that Windows Updates stop responding the moment Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 gets installed. After that Windows Update stalls.

Windows Update is fine when 7.6.7600.256 is installed and functioning, culprit is when it gets updated to .320 from .256.

Any suggestions how to fix it?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for replying.

I got it figured, it is most likely due to a dying drive/ bad sectors etc. With out installing the standalone ( Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x86), at the last install update starting functioning, displayed 230 updates to download, it downloaded all fine but during installations stalled/froze at 130. After that displays new updates available but wont download or install.

Ran the installer it installed a Hotfix but no help.

So ordered a new SSD, cause no fun in repeated futile installs.

On my other computers having better HDDs or SSD it installs smoothly.

    Thanks again for you assistance.
