Checking For Updates, taking forever w/ svchost.exe, high memory usage
I'm currently seeking help regarding the checking of updates on my computer.
Checking for updates is already taking hours.
It's been over a year since I have updated my computer. I decided to update it today as to make good use of the free time from work and to get the Windows 10 Upgrade notification before its too late.
Windows Updates states:
Most recent check for updates: March 9, 2014 at 9:01AM
Updates were installed at: March 9, 2014 at 8:44AM
BUT, when I checked my update history, the last installed update was the Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 installed at July 17, 2015(The date I posted this thread). It seems like it installed when I shut down my pc and restarted it.
Also, the svchost.exe process connected to the Windows Update is taking a huge (approx.) 700,000k from my memory and memory usage is at 90%(Only have 2gig ram with only 1.85gig available.) And upon checking for updates, there also appeared a TrustedInstaller.exe process.
And PLEASE DO NOT REPLY A COMMENT JUST ASKING WHY I TURNED OFF WINDOWS UPDATES, we all have our reasons. :)
Any solutions?
