    Unable to install Windows 7 update kb2894854 - kb3037581

I recently built a new desktop. Since installing Windows 7 64bit and running the updates I seem to be getting an update loop for the following updates...

    kb2894854
    kb2972107
    kb2972216
    kb2979578
    kb3023224
    kb3035490
    kb3037581

It always says the updates installed successfully but when I restart the updates appear in Windows Update again and do not seem to have taken affect.

Due to this I am unable to update Windows further and receive the future updates including the free Windows 10 update.

Read many articles for possible solutions, try repair tools for Windows Update, .net cleanup tools, manual installations of the updates all to no avail.

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

All of those except the first one are security updates for .net framework 4.5.2

Did you install .net framework 4.5.2 ?

    I don`t have a KB2894854 update, but I do have a KB2894844

Are you sure you typed it correctly ?

If you have .net framework 4.5.2 installed it will show in Programs and Features in the Control Panel

I have done this to no avail unfortunately. I have attached a screenshot that shows the errors it fixes and the one it does not...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Follow all 5 instructions in the following thread...

    Windows Update Posting Instructions

    1. Installed without issue.
    2. Finished without issue. Did not find any integrity violations.
    3. The error is seen in my screenshot previously. Error 0x80070005
    4. I was unable to upload the CBS.zip. Got the following error...

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Sounds like the CBS.zip file may be too large - (over 8MB) if so, delete the older CBSPersist files and try again.

I cannot get it smaller than 42MB. Is there anything particular in the CBS.zip that is needed?
