Windows 7 Service Pack 1 install error 8024200d

    Hi,

I already tried installing different tools (Fixits, Tool System Update Readiness etc.) from Microsoft Knowledge Base - none of them worked.

It neither installs with Windows Update nor with downloading the update manually.

    I use windows 7 professional 64bit.

Hope anyone can help because I am at the end of my wisdom

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Thank you for your answer.

    System Readyness tool installed.

SFC /scannow hasn't found any integrity violations.

the zipped CBS log might be to large (like 40 MB) - when I try to upload it it gives me an error. Is there any other way to upload it (or to compress it further - it seems like the max. allowed is 8 mb)

The system is an HP Elite Notebook - a few years old (i7-2670QM @ 2.2GHz, 8 GB Ram, 250 GB SSD)

    Thank you.

Save your logs and wait for Noel and he will tell you exactly how he wants large files downloaded to the forum.

The SFC scan results stop in the early stages of the scan - either because you didn't wait for it to complete, or because it crashed.
Please do another SFC /SCANNOW, and reboot before posting a new set of logs.
