Restarting with Windows Update Service Stopped

If I restart with my windows update service stopped, will it be in the services list when I go back in to start it?

I have uninstalled all the windows 10 updates so that it doesn't install when restart my computer and renamed my software distribution folder. I just want to be sure that I can restart the update service. Thanks for your help.

Yes, but stopping the service does not prevent it from automatically starting again after reboot. The service start up type determines that. (e.g. Automatic, Automatic (Delayed), Manual, Disabled)

As soon as the service starts, that folder will be recreated.

Yes, this I know, I just wanted to make sure it doesn't disappear. I'm going to restart now, hopefully I'll be back here and not on the Tenforums! Thanks
