    Can't install Windows 7 SP1 x64, error 80246008

    Hello,

I'm unable to install Windows 7 SP1 x64 for some reason, I can't figure out why, I tried a lot of things already. Whenever I try installing it (manually or from Windows Update) it just starts going for a while, then gives me a 80246008 error.

    Tried running SURT, didn't help.
    Tried running SFC, didn't help.
    Tried SubInACL, didn't help.
Tried System Update Readiness Tool, didn't help.
Tried Windows Update Diagnostic, that didn't help either, I fixed some problems, but didn't help with installing SP1.
    Tried Microsoft Fixit, didn't help.

So I really have no idea what to do now. I hope you'll be able to help me soon, because it's driving me mad. :/

I also attached a file of the Logs.

Well the forum has one expert that works on such problems and he is very busy.

I'm not a expert but I did notice some things in your logs.

    Summary:
    Seconds executed: 673
    Found 836 errors
CSI Create Hard Link Failed Total count: 36
CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 800
That is a lot of Missing File.

This might help if you complete this tutorial by Brink and post results here.

Well the one of the problems I see is this installation of Windows 7 Ultimate is counterfeit on your system.

You have a Acer Product key, OEM/SLP on a Retail Gigabyte motherboard.

Where did you get your copy of Ultimate and it's COA key??

This will cause all kinds of problems. Not hard to fix.
You will need to start with a proper install and activation with a legal copy and COA key of Windows 7.

    From your log.

    Windows Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00006
    /SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    BIOS><Manufacturer>Award Software International, Inc
Once you have complete a proper install of Windows 7 and activate it please post a new log.
